2025 SIRES
Maternal Sire 24M30
A maternal ram providing great growth but is also a curve bender as its adult weight is moderate. Now you can chase growth but maintain adult ewe size, plus have great fertility.
Maternal Sire 24M30
This sire offers low birth weight, high early growth, and moderate adult weight—an ideal combination for efficient lambing and long-term productivity.
Terminal Ram 231386
This son of a gun keeps the top lambs flowing, just at a faster pace, with industry leading on farm performance and eating quality.
Terminal Ram 240962
Every class leading ram needs a backup, so here we go again, low birthweight, great growth, moderate fat and massive muscle.
Maternal Sire 24M491
This sire is perfect for a self-replacing flock or joining ewe lambs. He has a super low birth weight but built in also is a low adult weight, moderate muscle, high fat and fertility. Ideal for a high density stocking rate system, so a sire that will deliver.
With high fat and muscle traits and exceptional fertility, he's a true maternal pocket rocket, genetically equipped to advance any maternal flock. Positive fat and muscle ASBVs mean his daughters can lay down condition easily in good seasons and maintain resilience when times are tough—ensuring reliable performance year after year.
Terminal Ram 211690
A terminal sire to make your mouth water. Profit starts at birth, a live lamb grows a lot faster than a dead one, lambs hit the ground running, then grow into compact, muscular bricks.
Beyond the exceptional carcase performance, the final reward is just as impressive: lamb that tastes as good as it looks.
Terminal Ram 240996
If on farm performance is your thing, live lambs fast finishing, massive muscle and lambs with enough cover to finish all delivered in a short period of time, driving down your cost of production, well say hello tiger!
Current and Past Stud Sires
PLG WILLOWS 211690
211690 is our current leading terminal sire. He looked great as a ram lamb with figures to back it up so we gave him a lot of ewes. Once his progeny data entered the analysis, he proved himself as one of the best rams in the country, with top of the database production traits (growth/muscle) combined with industry leading eating quality (IMF/Shear Force).
He is a well balanced ram, with great legs and feet, clean points and good temperament. His ASBV’s speak for themselves - He is in the top 1% for EQ Index, Growth, Muscle, IMF and Shear Force. Combined with a low/moderate BWT and positive Fat, he is an excellent package for any enterprise. We have used him in our AI program for 2023 as well as our natural joining, and hope to get him collected once he has finished serving ewes. Several of his sons are in our 2023 sire team and sale team.
In 2024 he is still holding strong - figures back a little on growth but still top 1% on the EQ index and huge muscle. He will again be used in our AI and natural joinings, with 5 of his sons also in our sire team for 2024.
PLG WILLOWS 20M224
Pictured as a ram lamb, 20M224 is a maternal composite ram selected for his explosive growth and muscle along with excellent conformation and type. 20M224 gives us that fast early growth (top 1% in database) tapering off as he reached mature size, huge muscle (top 1%) while maintaining above average Weaning Rate figures. While driving up growth and fertility we also select for White Suffolk/Poll Dorset phenotype in our maternals which contributes to better sale prices for wether lambs, especially those that grow as well as 20M224’s progeny! One of his sons has been used in the 2023 sire team.
20M224 was utilized in the Sheep Genetics Resource Flock in 2022, contributing to ASBV accuracy, carcase data and linkage within the database.
PLG WILLOWS 201104
PLG WILLOWS 201104
201104 is a terminal ram we used extensively in his first two seasons. As a ram lamb he had excellent balanced figures, with fantastic growth and muscle balanced with low birthweight and positive fat. When the database was updated he dropped back a bit on his figures but remains a well balanced ram with excellent muscle, sitting in the top 10% for the TCP index, top 10% for muscle and top 20% on the EQ index. He has a number of excellent progeny, both rams and ewes, carrying on throughout the stud as well as three sons in the 2023 sire team.
201104 was used in the Sheep Genetics Resource Flock in 2022, contributing to ASBV accuracy, carcase data and linkage through the databse.
